Three ships carrying food grains will leave Ukrainian ports every day. Earlier it was said to leave one ship per day. A Turkish official said this last Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, the first grain-laden ship that left Ukraine’s Odesa port reached Istanbul, Turkey without any problems.
According to Turkey, the ship coming from the port of Odesa was checked. It then crosses the Bosphorus Strait. The Sierra Leone-flagged ship Rajoni will go to Lebanon with more than 26,000 tons of maize.
According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, a joint team of Russian and Ukrainian officials inspected the ship at the request of Russia.
About one-third of the world’s wheat exports come from Russia and Ukraine. However, due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the grain supply to the Black Sea was cut off, causing a global food crisis. To deal with this crisis, a historic grain export agreement was signed between Ukraine and Russia on July 22, mediated by the United Nations and Turkey. Soon after the signing of the agreement, the price of wheat in the world market started to fall.
Under the agreement between Ukraine and Russia, shipping through the Ukrainian ports of Chernomorsk, Odesa, and Pivdenni is ensured. Turkey officially launched a special joint cooperation center in Istanbul on Wednesday to oversee grain export activities from Ukraine under the agreement. In addition to belligerents Russia and Ukraine, military-civilian officials from Turkey and the United Nations are stationed at the center.
Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said he expects more ships to sail from Ukrainian ports.
The US Directly Involved in Ukraine War: Russia
Meanwhile, Russia has accused the United States of direct involvement in the Ukraine war. The Russian Ministry of Defense made this complaint on Tuesday. This is the first time since the Russia-Ukraine war began that Moscow has accused the United States of directly engaging in hostilities
U.S. and Ukrainian intelligence officials discuss each attack before the attack, Vadim Skivitskyi, deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, told The Telegraph. They were attacked after discussing with them. However, Vadim Skibitsky also says that US officials are not directly providing target-related information. After that statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense complained that Vadim’s interview seemed to indicate that the United States was directly involved in the Russia-Ukraine war.
